Gaining course accreditation
Institutions or organisations with an interest in education may be eligible for course accreditation upon fulfilment of certain requirements.
How to gain course accreditation
- Contact The College and speak to the Awards Officer to discuss course accreditation and benefits of being a Centre of The College and to gain an impression of the application, submission and assessment process.
- Become an Institutional Member of The College. Applying for Institutional Membership is the first step towards course accreditation. You will be able to bear The College’s Badge while waiting for course approval and be part of The College community.
- Submit your course to the Awards Officer complete with the Course Accreditation Application Form and the additional relevant documents for assessment.
Once you have decided where your course fits into The College’s Generic or TESOL Qualification Framework you should submit an online copy of the submission and a detailed Curriculum Vitae for all key tutors and examiners of the proposed course to the Awards Officer. Include relevant documentation according to the submission guidelines and give as much detail as possible. The proposed course for accreditation should meet The College’s minimum requirements for a specific qualification.
The Awards Officer will give you as much informal advice as possible before the course is submitted to an assessor. Together with the completed Course Accreditation Application Form and the assessor’s recommendation the course is submitted to The College’s Awards Committee for final approval.
Once the course is approved you will need to apply for Individual Membership for all key tutors and examiners and sign a Memorandum of Agreement.
