Accreditation Costs
There are two parts to the costs associated with accreditation. We have split these into Part One - Initial Accreditation and Part Two - Post-accreditation.
Part One - Initial Accreditation
A. Becoming an Institutional Member
Applying for Institutional Membership is your first step towards full course accreditation. As an Institutional Member your organisation will receive a range of benefits. Institutional Membership also entitles your employees and members to join as Individual Members at greatly reduced rates.
B. Becoming an Individual Member
The nominated representative of the organisation and key members of its teaching staff are required to join as Individual Members, at a greatly reduced rate.
Fellow Membership £109
Membership £64
C. Course accreditation
Submit your course to the Awards Officer complete with the Course accreditation application form and the additional relevant documents for assessment.
Course accreditation lasts for three years and your course can be submitted at two levels:
Scheme 1 includes Certificate of Educational Studies (COES) and Diploma of Educational Studies (DOES)
£420
Scheme 2 includes all other qualifications except Fellowship.
£540
The scheme that you submit your courses for can be discussed in some detail with the Awards Officer prior to submission for accreditation.
D. Validation and inspections
To ensure that The College’s high standards of accredited courses are maintained, The College of Teachers requires each Centre to undergo an inspection visit every three years. The Centre will be responsible for the actual travel, accommodation and subsistence on an economy basis for the period of the inspection visit.
Part Two - Post-accreditation
A. Registration and assessment
Once an institution has been awarded Centre status and the courses have been approved by the Awards Committee, it is up to the Centre to register their candidates. The College of Teachers’ Online Student Management System allows Centres to manage the registration and completion efficiently. The price for each candidate registered and assessed with The College of Teachers is defined by the level of qualification. Centres are invoiced only 50% of the assessment fees at registration and the rest upon completion.

Diploma of Educational Studies (DOES) £113
Advanced Certificate of Educational Studies (ACOES) £305
