Professor Michael Reiss

Michael Reiss is Associate Director, Research, Consultancy and Knowledge Transfer and Professor of Science Education at the Institute of Education, University of London. He is Chief Executive of Science Learning Centre London, Vice President of the British Science Association, Honorary Visiting Professor at the Universities of Birmingham and York, Docent at the University of Helsinki, Director of the Salters-Nuffield Advanced Biology Project, a member of the Farm Animal Welfare Council, editor of the journal Sex Education and an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences.

After a PhD and post-doctoral work in animal behaviour and evolutionary biology at the University of Cambridge, Michael Reiss trained to be a teacher and taught in schools before starting an academic career in education. For further information see www.reiss.tc
