Action research course
Who is the course for?
The Action Research course is designed for people working in education who want to develop their expertise or bring about change through a research approach.
Background information
Action research is both a way of solving a problem with what you do and the process by which you find the solution. An action researcher wants a solution. The process is an attempt to gain a better understanding of what you do.
Action research did not start in education. Once its possibilities became clear, it was applied to education some thirty years later, largely as a result of a work by Lawrence Stenhouse in 1975.
Today, individuals still undertake action research as a means of developing their action and their research. By researching their action, they can action their research.
