Doing this course allows me to reflect upon my work- highlighting areas that I can improve on and learning new ideas that helps me when I work with a small group of pupils.

This course has changed and widened my view on how to help children with the best suitable way for learning and to think from different perspectives to improve the teaching. I've learned a lot and am starting to use the concept and adapt to my way of teaching.

The only problem I had was that some of the links were not updated.
Our note: The links within the course became inactive due to the closure of many UK government departments websites. We have since updated our links to new websites.
Interactive whiteboard course - The intricacies
Monday, 10 October, 2011
I had been using the white board for sometime before the course though, but I would say I was actually experimenting and learning it the hard way. I found the course listed and was very eager to join and learn it from the professionals. I should say that the course was very useful in the way that the structuring of the course was done well, and it led the learner from one level to the next by slowly introducing the tools and the applications as well. I was sceptical about how I would do it online as I thought a direct hands-on teaching would be better, but the video clips and the picturisation were very clear and informative. It guided a naive person like me with such ease that I enjoyed the learning.
Time for admin course - Give it a go

The option of studying at my own pace with help, if needed from Chris and other candidates really impressed me.
I must admit the first module I looked at I found confusing, but I read it over and over a few times and realised that it was not as difficult as I had anticipated. You call it "panic". After this and comments from Chris, I was able to move onto the next module! (You do not have to do them in order).
The only down side I found was that course students were a little shy about the "chat room". Come on you guys, let us help each other!
I was able to draw on the expertise of my school colleagues on one or two questions.
All in all I found it "fun" and was delighted when I passed.
I would recommend this course as you do it in your own time at your own pace. What more could you ask!
Go on - give it a go - it's fun!!
Interactive whiteboard course - Review
Thursday, 6 October, 2011
Thank you for a very informative and enjoyable course. I now feel more knowledgeable and able to understand the potential the whiteboard has in the classroom. I found the course worked particularly well if you could download the Notebook software onto your computer so that lessons could be planned & saved on a memory stick ready for use in school. The College of Teachers kindly supplied this link to enable me to do this & then I entered the "product key" for the whiteboard issued at school.
Time for admin course - Sue's review
Thursday, 6 October, 2011
I was happy to find a course for Administrators and appreciate it was a new course. It must be difficult to prepare a course which meets the needs of the different levels of educational administrators and the needs of international schools in very varied settings.
Most of the course was interesting and I felt my knowledge was being stretched - particularly Module 4.
Other parts I found easy and therefore a bit disappointing (Module 12).
My main frustration was that so many websites referred to in the course were not functional - I would suggest that the websites are checked regularly to ensure they are still relevant.
I'm glad I did the course, I have not done any formal learning for a long time and I enjoyed it.
Thank you for your encouragement and support to complete it.
Sue

Teaching assistant course - Speedy marking

Good little course. The quick marking was excellent and really keeps you going.
I also liked the way the questions are geared to three main age groups. This meant I could focus on early years and primary.
