CPD Leadership Programme Qualifications
The College of Teachers qualifications are awarded under our Royal Charter. Our qualifications range from certificates through to Master's level and are professional rather than academic in nature, allowing everyone involved in education to have their professional achievement, practice and expertise recognised and rewarded.
CPD Partner Schools and CPD Leader Schools receive an initial 15 Learning Points which they can use for their staff to pursue a course of study at COES or DOES level. Schools and colleges can purchase further points according to their need.
The Certificate of Educational Studies (COES)
A COES involves building knowledge and/or skills in relation to an area of work or a subject area and is appropriate for many job roles. The COES requires you to attend and participate in identified training and show how you benefited from it.
The Diploma in Educational Studies (DOES)
A DOES is for those who want to extend their subject knowledge of education. The Diploma is available to those who are able to demonstrate that they can take responsibility for their own sustained professional development, setting objectives for improvement and taking actions to reach those objectives.
Additional study
The College will provide full support whilst schools and colleges are developing processes throughout the initial stages of the CPD Leadership Programme. At present The College is providing a phased approach to the programme and currently provides qualifications at the COES and DOES level.
Staff in schools and colleges may eventually like to pursue higher levels of study. The College aims to provide these at advanced level in the future for all those who are on the programme.
School and College staff can also choose to pursue direct courses of study through The College, which are offered outside of the CPD Leadership Programme. These qualifications offer staff the opportunity to undertake further research-based study.
