The Honorary Officers
The President is elected upon the recommendation of the Honorary Officers. The President ranks in precedence before all other Members of The College and is always the chairperson at any Council meeting and at other meetings of sub-committees of the Council; this is usually the Executive Committee as other committees are chaired by a separate member of Council whose position is relative to that committee.
The Senior Vice-President deputises for the President in his absence at meetings and must chair any ad hoc committee created to search for a new President.
The Vice-President assumes special responsibility for the encouragement and coordination of certain College activities. The Vice-Presidents are elected by the Council under the provisions of The College's Royal Charter.
The Secretary is responsible to the Council for the administration and affairs of The College and for the servicing of all committees and boards appointed by the Council. The Secretary provides the Council with appropriate information and documents and guides its members in their deliberations.
The Dean is responsible to the Council for the academic standard of all examinations and other assessments and of the continuing professional development programmes of The College. The Dean is able to take the appropriate steps for the performance of these duties subject to the agreement of Council. The Dean is also the Chairman of the Awards Committee.
The Treasurer is responsible to the Council for all receipts and payments made by The College, and has access to all records and statements of accounts of The College. The Treasurer presents an annual budget to council and informs them of The College's financial position as well as advising the Council on all matters concerned with finance in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and Registrar.
