At some point during 2016 the Royal Charter responsibilities of the College of Teachers will be assumed by a newly formed organisation called The College of Teaching. Consequently no new applications for membership are now being accepted.
At present it is not possible to fully specify how the creation of the new College of Teaching will impact on members of The College of Teachers but this will be made clearer before the end of 2015. You can read more about The College of Teaching at www.claimyourcollege.org.
Members of The College of Teachers are involved with education whether as teachers, lecturers, tutors, teaching assistants, trainers or as a member of the admin team in a school.
Institutional Members comprise schools, universities, training organisations, and colleges.
Individual Membership celebrates (and recognises) professional qualifications and career achievements and provides a range of paper-based and online resources.
The College is run by members for the benefit of all those who belong. All Fellows (FCollT) and Members (MCollT) are eligible to stand for election to Council and to vote in College elections.
