Publications
The College of Teachers produces two high-quality quarterly publications, Education Today and the Newsletter.
Education Today
Education Today is a refereed journal which is a primary source for articles and the publication of research by international contributors on the following themes:
- Learning, teaching and classroom research
- Current issues in education
- Curriculum and curriculum research
- Initial teacher education
- In-service education and continuing professional development
- The governance and management of education
- Book reviews
Occasional issues of Education Today are themed on a particular topic, for example, leadership in learning. Education Today is written in a style which is accessible to classroom teachers. Contributions are always welcomed from readers and debate is encouraged.
The readership of Education Today includes primary, secondary and special educational needs teachers, trainee teachers, lecturers, industry trainers, university staff and local authority managers and governors, both in the UK and overseas. Education Today is circulated to Individual Members and Institutional Members of The College of Teachers (including many specialist teaching and subject associations, agencies, colleges and schools) and subscribers including many university libraries.
The Newsletter
The Newsletter is published quarterly. It is in full colour and contains news about The College’s events, including lectures and awards ceremonies, as well as details of committee meetings. The Education Digest aims to draw attention to the major developments in the field of education. In addition, Members’ news is also featured, in the form of listing Members’ recent achievements, as well as profiling one of The College’s Individual Members and one of its Centres. The Newsletter also contains a recipe, as well as a puzzle.
