Professor Brian Thorne is the Emeritus Professor of Counselling at the University of East Anglia where he was previously Director of Counselling and of the Centre for Counselling Studies.

He is also a founder member of the Norwich Centre for Personal and Professional Development where he continues to work as a Professional Fellow.         

Brian has been a Fellow of The College since 1983 and was Professor of Education from 1997-2007. He currently serves on the Awards Committee. He is a prominent figure in the international community of person-centred scholars and has written numerous best-selling books. He is also a Lay Canon of Norwich Cathedral and his books cover the fields of counselling, education and pastoral theology.
